Feigenchutney Rezept
How to Make the Perfect Feigenchutney
Ingredients:
- 1 kg figs, peeled and roughly chopped
- 200g onions, peeled and finely chopped
- 50g fresh root ginger, peeled and finely chopped
- 2-3 fresh chillies, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 150g brown sugar
- 200ml white wine vinegar
Instructions:
1. Place all the ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. 2. Reduce the heat and simmer for 45-60 minutes, or until the chutney has thickened and the figs are soft. 3. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. 4. Pour the chutney into a sterilised jar and seal.
Tips:
* For a spicier chutney, add more chillies. * For a sweeter chutney, add more brown sugar. * The chutney will keep for up to 3 months in a cool, dark place.
