Cruzeiro targets 2025
Early planning will aid promotion pursuit
Team building started early
Cruzeiro's planning for the 2025 season is already underway, with the club identifying a number of targets that it hopes to sign in the coming months.
The club's main priority is to strengthen its squad in order to challenge for promotion back to the Brazilian Serie A.
Cruzeiro was relegated to the Serie B in 2019, and has since been unable to regain its place in the top flight.
The club has been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, including former Brazil international Robinho and ex-Manchester United midfielder Anderson.
Cruzeiro is also reportedly interested in signing a number of young players from South America.
The club's transfer plans are being overseen by new sporting director Alexandre Mattos, who was appointed in December 2022.
Mattos has a wealth of experience in Brazilian football, having previously worked at Corinthians, Palmeiras and Flamengo.
He is expected to play a key role in helping Cruzeiro to achieve its目標.
