Lingafelter has been a member of the Urbana Police Department for 15 years. He has served as a patrol officer, detective, and lieutenant. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development School.
Lingafelter said he is proud to have graduated from the FBI National Academy. He said the program was a challenging but rewarding experience.
"I learned a lot about leadership, management, and criminal investigation," Lingafelter said. "I also made some great connections with other law enforcement officers from across the country."
Lingafelter said he plans to use his new skills and knowledge to improve the Urbana Police Department.
"I am committed to making the Urbana Police Department the best it can be," Lingafelter said. "I am confident that the skills and knowledge I gained at the FBI National Academy will help me achieve that goal."
