Bear Alexander and Emmanuel Pregnon now Trojans
As of Sunday, June 25, the University of Southern California (USC) football program has accrued two more players to their roster: linebacker Bear Alexander and defensive lineman Emmanuel Pregnon. Both players announced their commitments via their personal Twitter accounts.
Alexander a coveted player
Alexander, a four-star recruit from Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, California, was coveted by several other top programs, including the University of Washington, the University of Oregon and the University of Oklahoma. Ultimately, he chose to stay close to home and play for the Trojans. Alexander is considered one of the top linebackers in the 2023 recruiting class. He is a physical tackler with a knack for making big plays. He is also a standout performer on the basketball court where he was ESPN's #125 ranked player in the 2023 class.
Pregnon joins a young D-line
Pregnon, a three-star recruit from Junipero Serra High School in Gardena, California, is a 6'4", 285-pound defensive lineman with a lot of upside. He is a strong and athletic player who can play either defensive tackle or defensive end. Pregnon is a disruptive force on the defensive line, and he should be a valuable addition to the Trojans' young defensive line.
Other potential transfers
In addition to Alexander and Pregnon, USC is also in the running for several other potential transfers, including wide receiver Jaleel Skinner, linebacker Nick Hampton, and cornerback Toriano Pride. Skinner is a former five-star recruit who spent the last two seasons at the University of Miami. Hampton is a former four-star recruit who spent the last two seasons at the University of Georgia. Pride is a former four-star recruit who spent the last two seasons at the University of Clemson.
