President Withdraws COVID Vaccine Mandate
Biden Drops out of 2024 Race
Endorses Harris as Successor
The Biden administration is withdrawing its Covid vaccine-or-test requirement for large employers, citing the Supreme Court's recent decision to block the rule. President Joe Biden, 81, announced Sunday that he is dropping out of the 2024 presidential election, ending the prospect of a rematch against former President Donald Trump.
Biden, who at 81 is the oldest person ever to have occupied the Oval Office, said he would remain in the presidency until his term ended in January 2025. He endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take on Trump and encouraged his party to unite behind her.
