Boston Celtics Defeat Dallas Mavericks to Take 3-0 Lead in NBA Finals
Celtics Dominate Game 3, One Win Away from Championship
The Boston Celtics are one win away from their 18th NBA championship after defeating the Dallas Mavericks 106-99 in Game 3 of the NBA Finals in Dallas on Saturday night.
Celtics Control Game 3 from Start to Finish
The Celtics controlled the game from the opening tip, taking an early lead and never looking back. Jayson Tatum led the way with 28 points, while Jaylen Brown added 22 points and 8 rebounds. Kristaps Porziņģis had a big game for the Mavericks with 21 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Celtics' well-rounded attack.
The Celtics' defense was also strong, holding the Mavericks to just 36% shooting from the field. Luka Dončić, the Mavericks' leading scorer, was limited to just 17 points on 6-of-19 shooting.
Dončić Fouls Out Late
Dončić's night ended prematurely when he fouled out with 3:17 remaining in the game. His ejection seemed to energize the Celtics, who went on a 10-0 run to put the game away.
Celtics One Win Away from Title
The Celtics now have a 3-0 lead in the series and can clinch their 18th NBA championship with a win in Game 4 on Monday night in Dallas.
