'Disorganised and addicted' student, 29, was caught with three bags of the class A drug worth £1,200
Abbott-Thompson, who lived with his mother until her split with Abbott, claimed he had purchased the drugs for another person
DIANE Abbott's son has been pictured after being caught with crystal meth delivered to her £1.2million home. James Abbott-Thompson, 29, was caught with three bags of the class A drug worth £1,200 when police raided the property in North London in March last year.
The former student said he has purchased the drugs for another person, but a court heard he had previous convictions for possessing cocaine and cannabis. He claimed to have suffered from mental health issues and an addiction to drugs and alcohol.
Abbott-Thompson, who lived with his mother until her split with Abbott last summer, admitted possessing crystal meth with intent to supply and was given a 12-month community order in January.
The court heard he was "disorganised and addicted" and living with his mother rent-free had "led to him being disengaged from society".
Abbott, 68, has not been implicated in any wrongdoing.
