In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals, Borussia Dortmund beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 on Wednesday. The only goal of the game was scored by Karim Adeyemi in the 29th minute. PSG had several chances to equalize in the second half, but they were unable to find the back of the net. The result leaves Dortmund in a strong position heading into the second leg, which will be played on May 1, 2024.
PSG started the game brightly and had the first chance of the match when Neymar forced a good save from Gregor Kobel in the 10th minute. However, Dortmund gradually grew into the game and took the lead in the 29th minute when Adeyemi latched onto a through ball from Julian Brandt and slotted the ball past Gianluigi Donnarumma.
PSG pushed for an equalizer in the second half, but they were unable to break down Dortmund's defense. The German side had several chances to extend their lead on the counterattack, but they were also unable to find the back of the net. In the end, Dortmund held on for a 1-0 victory.
The result leaves Dortmund in a strong position heading into the second leg. PSG will need to score at least twice to progress to the final, while Dortmund can afford to lose by one goal and still advance.
